Author D.M. Cain: a sneak peek and cover reveal!

As you all know, I'm always excited to introduce you to new authors. This time around, it is my pleasure to introduce you to an author who is very beloved to those of us in the Indie book community. Her name is D.M. Cain, and for those of you familiar with her work, you know how fantastic she is! She has been working on updating one of her awesome books, and well ... it’s here! The dark, gritty psychological thriller The Phoenix Project has undergone a makeover in the brand new Booktrope edition! Completely re-edited and re-designed, it features a stunning cover by the talented Amalia Chitulescu.

In case you aren't familair with this book, let's give you a glimpse with the synopsis:

How can you fight to the death, when you’ve given up on life?

A thought provoking and compelling dystopian world that will change the way you view justice...

A man fights for life—and redemption—in D. M. Cain’s riveting re-released novel, The Phoenix Project.

Britain has descended into chaos as violence and terrorist attacks seethe across this once-peaceful country. Outraged by the steady stream of lawlessness, citizens demand a harsher penal system, and the Phoenix Project is born.

In prisons across the country, inmates fight to the death in a weekly bloodbath while the nation cheers them on.

Raven Kennedy, a prisoner who has never forgiven himself for his unspeakable crime, struggles against his own guilt and self-loathing. But even as the real war wages on within himself, Raven is forced to battle some of the prison’s most ruthless killing machines. Can he survive long enough to unravel the anger and regret that shackle him—and one day find the forgiveness he seeks?

‘The Phoenix Project by D.M. Cain is a superbly written debut, soaked in tension and intrigue,’ Jack Croxall, author of the ‘Tethers’ trilogy.

Genre: Psychological thriller/Dark thriller/Dystopian

Book Content: Occasional adult language, graphic violence, and mild sexual content.

I don't know about you, but I am intrigued! This book has already been added to my "to be read list", and hopefully you'll add it to yours.

Now, before I share the new cover with you, let's remind everyone what the old one looked like:

Pretty great, right? Well, with the help of her team at Booktrope, she has managed to make it even better. Now I could do the unveiling myself, but honestly I feel a little under-qualified to take on such an honor. Since most models annoy me and Vanna White is a little out of my price range, that leaves only one person who is worthy of sharing this amazing new cover with you. Any ideas? It's D.M. Cain, of course!

D.M. was kind enough to make a video for all of you so that you could see her unveil the new version of The Phoenix Project in person. Without further ado ...

Love it! (Sorry if the video gave you a preview a little too soon, but what can you do?)

Here is a better look at the cover in all it's glory:

For those of you who are eager to learn more about D.M. Cain and The Phoenix Project, look for my interview with her soon. The original version is available now, the updated one will be available to buy soon from a wide range of digital and paperback distributors. For updates and more info on D.M. and her other projects, please visit:

I will also be adding this book to my Awesome Indies page. You'll get to read the interview as soon as the book re-launches. Until then, Happy Reading!
